India vs Pakistan could become a regular cricket fixture in new ICC competitions!!!!!

Some reports :-
  • This year’s ICC Annual Conference will take place this week in Edinburgh
  • Senior ICC officials have suggested the scrapping of bilateral series in favour of a league system
  • India and Pakistan last played a bilateral series in 2013
  • Past fixtures have drawn TV audiences as big as 988 million
  • India will play Pakistan as part of the group stage of the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy at Edgbaston - a wildly anticipated match

When Pakistan and India meet in the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy at Edgbaston, it will be the second time in four years that the two great cricketing rivals have faced-off in England’s second city.
Unfortunately though, in what is a great shame to cricket fans around the world, it is just the fifth short-format game between India and Pakistan since the final 2013 bilateral series, as a cruel mix of terrorism, politics, anxiety and stubbornness have finally snapped a heavily-strained relationship.
With Indian politician restricted by the binding ties of anti-Pakistan sentiment, the resumption of sporting  event watched by 988 million people around the world seems a distant dream.
Meanwhile,as this week's ICC annual  conference in Edinburgh approaches,a number of ideas have been mooted  concerning a fundamental change to cricket's calendar
The change involve the scrapping of bilateral series between two Test playing nations,in favour of either a league system for Test cricket,and/or ODI cricket that might bypass the hostility of India's current politician leadership.
The idea is to have international leagues - spread across a decently long period of time - with fixtures both home and away.
The buzzword of the moment is ‘context’ - aiming to give seemingly random fixtures (like that being played out currently between England and Sri Lanka) a larger meaning, with relegation, promotion and a nice trophy at the end of the cycle.
India are currently positioned as the second-best Test team in world cricket according to the current ICC world rankings, falling short of Australia. They are also third in the ODI rankings.
Pakistan are ranked third in Test cricket, although they are ranked 9th in ODIs.
